Tchaikowsky in Jazz transforms Tchaikovsky’s well-known melody into a swinging solo jazz piano piece. The original theme is preserved while being reshaped through jazz harmony, rhythmic variation, syncopation, and rich piano voicings.
Classical themes in jazz have long been a favorite on the concert stage, and this arrangement brings that tradition to Tchaikovsky’s music. Inspired by the great solo jazz piano tradition, it turns a familiar classical melody into a lively, sophisticated performance piece that sounds full and complete on solo piano.
